envelopes.
To our foreign customers: Please do not ask us
to mark shipments as low value/no value ~ used motorcycle parts, or
ask us to mark parts as a gift, or, ask us to falsify documentation so
that you can avoid or reduce paying Customs duties, taxes or tariffs.
Doing so will end our association. If you must do business this way
then find an agent in this country that will purchase the parts from
us and then they can ship the parts to you on your agreed terms and
you can leave us out of it.

About four years ago (2004) the Antique Motorcycle Club of Am. celebrated it's 50th year. Various chapters had shows or rides and other events.

Tejas Chapter also had a show. I got the Post Office (PO) involved by designing a cached post mark to apply to special event envelopes.

I designed several cached envelopes and the PO came to the show and officially applied the special event post mark on the day of the event. Those envelopes are identified by the appearance of a number of 05c motorcycle stamps on the envelope to which the postmark was applied.

The PO requires that a cached post mark be available for thirty days or so after an event for those wishing to receive the special cancellation post-event. These envelopes were identified by the application of a US flag stamp. Now there may have been other people around the country that applied other kinds of stamps on envelopes to get the special post mark, but these cached envelopes were Tejas chapter's officially sanctioned cached envelopes

Altogether, there were between 350~400 envelopes printed for the show with about 185 having the motorcycle stamps on them. These stamps were the only mc stamps the PO had produced at the time other than a few on very old Special Delivery type stamps.

Many of the mc stamps are either "line pair" with a "plate number", or, just a plate number making them rarer than the ordinary 05c mc stamp. If memory serves me well, I believe that there was one line pair every ten stamps and one plate number every thirty stamps.

There can never be any more of this dated design produced as the special cancellation is retired by the Post Office after the event and grace period have passed.
