The engine and tank is missing, but it has pedals...The headlight is like a zundapp. There are serial numbers on the head of the frame on both sides aswell as on the outside of the bottom bracket...A letter B inside a square? is on the left side of the frame head with numbers(cant make out the numbers or letters, also there is a stamp like the top of a nail head on bottom bracket) ...Will try and clean it up for a better look... I have a photo that I can send throu email... Thanx any help would be grateful Kimberly Kimberly of Greece kasanova1967[at]hotmail.com Thurs, Sep. 29, 2011 19:31 I just bought a Zundap. I couldn't remember the model until I saw some of the pictures but I vividly remember the details and that was what I found in them. I now ride a Harley Electra Glide but the time I spent on that old Zundapp will be in my mind forever! Hardly anyone around here has ever heard of Zundapp, much one ever saw one so I have enjoyed showing the pics around. Thanks for the memories! Oskar of Denmark dneprdanmark[at]gmail.com Sun, Jun. 19, 2011 20:18 we were zundapp dealers from 1950 to the bitter end, we never sold the big bikes, rather the 200 norma..comfort,,the sabre..challenger and super sabre. we sold a bunch of them and raced the super sabre..highly mofified. we also had a number of riders from our shop racing, the battles between our zundapps and the tiger cubs was epic. my super sabre had the head cut .250, a webco magneto, webco bottom end kit, a special manifold with a 1 3/16 amal tt carb, with remote float bowl, i cut the flywheel down to the mounting rivits, polished the ports, used a expansion chamber but later took it off and added a short rpm pipe (mistake) the bike was incredibility fast but lacked reliability, the connecting rods would sling in half. i am old but still have a soft spot in my heart for the zundapp. I AM ANOTHER ZUNDAPP FOOL!1 robert moore of rome, ga. moore3570[at]bellsouth.net Sun, Jun. 05, 2011 23:54 Own a black 1952 KS601 which I bought from Doc Patt's collection in Boyertown PA in 2007. My guess is that there are six or seven running in the state of Michigan. My 1952 "running aboriginal" (original black except for front fender) 1952 KS601 is probably going to be looking for a good home in the next year or two. My surgeon (valve sparing upper aortic aneurism repair) says "do not push, pull, or lift more than 50lb." It is kind of difficult to ride a 550 lb KS601 under those restrictions, and "Daily Rider" should be ridden.   OK folks, Pay attention! Here is a 1952 KS601 that is looking for a new home. Purchased used from Penton Honda, Amherst Ohio, reference American Motorcyclist January 1986 issue, Flight of the Bumblebee." As I understand, from information gleaned from a Dutch/American fellow Zundapp freak, only ten of these machines were imported into the US, through a distributor in Youngstown, Ohio. He was fortunate enough to buy a brand new ( 5 km on clock ) KS-50 WC from a shop near his hometown just a couple of years ago. He has two friends who also own the bikes. On friend built a watercooler from parts, the other friend, who is with the Indiana Pacers and shall remain nameless, owns two of the machines. It would be helpful and appreciated if you have any information regarding these machines. I have been away from motorcycling for years (after I married and raised a family), but find myself reinterested in the sport. I'm keeping my eyes open for any Zundapp bikes I can find, and have told friends to keep me informed of anything the might run across. I have owned four Zundapp so far ( Bella 150, 250 Super Sabre, Bella 200, and now the KS-50), plus the usual Hondas, Suzuki, Yamaha, and even a Jawa trials bike. But I must admit having a large soft spot in my heart for Zundapp. My wife calls me a fool often, for many reasons, one of which is my love for motorcycles. Thanks for your time, Dennis Dennis Rudy of Fairview Park, Ohio 44126 danger[at]wowway.com Sat, Jan. 15, 2011 15:11 I read Dan Ayres tale about his ex-side car racer 601 with great interest. I don't doubt the claimed (indicated) speeds, but I question his horsepower estimate of 30-especially since the engine had been tuned for racing. Her are some actual top speeds of 30hp motorcycles I am familiar with, based on road tests of the time: 1947 Norton International (500cc OHC) 97mph. BMW R60-1963 88mph.BMW R66-1938 87mph (claimed factory top speed, not a test). For Dan to be hitting an actual speed of 110mph, he would need the 38-40 hp of a BSA Goldstar, or the 45 hp of a Vincent Rapide. I think Dan is underestimating the power of his tuned 601, and I would place it at somewhere in the 40 hp range. Another bike which is more comparable is the 1953 R68 BMW, which would top 100mph on 35hp. The '51, after a certain amount of work, turned into a solid, dependable bike. The '57 had a habit of eating up elastics, for reasons lost in the fog of time, and I finally blew up the gearbox racing another drunk on Broadway in NYC.I sold the carcass to Amol in New Jersey for $50.00. We're remodeling and would like to sell it because of lack of room. I'm sure we would have a good deal on it, whatever that would be- but we don't know and can't find an avenue of collectors or fans to show it to. Now that I found this cool site, I wanted to ask opinions on where to sell it? Many thanks and a happy holiday to you. And I'm the administrator of the website Zundapp in Uruguay! We would like to visit the website to see all the work we are doing on the bike in Germany. We have several db20x, KS601, and Bella which we could not get pictures to publish yet. A shame. Although we are a small country of 3 million people, have much of the Zundapp between us. Many went to the casting of metals, others simply rotted in the open. Several people have been gathering on the web, we have restored to almost original condition motorcycles, others have changed for better and some are still factory! There are not many as I was saying, but in a country so small, almost 50 Zundapp we found in full operation. The parts in my case, I found 3 / 4 of an engine lying in a box in a warehouse ... Were restored and because of that, my motorcycle is in full operation! Well now that I am saying goodbye here on the other side of the world is already too late .. hahah.
